Whose fault is it anyway: Shipping to the wrong delivery address

Transcript

Green arrow

A shipper gives the wrong delivery address to his carrier. When the carrier gets the real address, they charge the shipper a whopping fee.

Whose fault is it anyway?

In this case, the shipper. Here’s why.

In this scenario, the shipper made what they believed was a small mistake when booking their shipment. The delivery address they gave the carrier was a few miles from the actual address the shipment needed to be delivered to. Once the shipper realized this they immediately called the carrier to provide the correct information.

Though this situation might seem minor it resulted in the shipper being charged double the cost of her initial quote. Even a small change in a delivery address requires a carrier to track down your shipment in their warehouse, relabel it and change the address in their systems. And, the shipper has to pay for all that extra time and effort.

Unfortunately, scenarios like this are not uncommon and shippers find themselves facing fees they weren’t anticipating. Here at Koho we are focusing on helping shippers and carriers see eye-to-eye with our LTL booking platform. Contact us today to speak to our LTL experts.
