Packaging your freight correctly is the best way to protect your items from damage and make them easier to transport.
Partnering with a 3PL gives you access to a team of freight shipping experts and technology that can make your LTL experience smooth and efficient.
Packaging is available in a wide range of materials and styles. What you choose should be determined by the size, weight, shape, and fragility of the items in your shipment.
The first and most universal way to track your shipment through your LTL carrier is by using the bill of lading (BOL) number. Every BOL issued has a unique number assigned to it, and entering the BOL number into most LTL carriers’ websites will provide the shipment’s most recent logged location.
LTL freight does not deliver on the weekends, so keep that in mind when planning your shipments. Expedited and guaranteed LTL freight can move on the weekends, but standard LTL does not.
The LTL shipping process consists of getting a quote, booking a shipment, packaging and preparing the shipment, pickup, transportation, and delivery. The details of the shipment are negotiated and determined when you receive a quote from an LTL carrier.
