If your freight needs specific accommodations they must be written on the Bill of Lading so the LTL truck driver understands how they will need to deliver your shipment.
Having the widest possible window for both pick-up and delivery will help you have a better LTL experience.
If you have a large volume shipment it might be in your best interest to break down that freight into smaller LTL shipments and book it with different carriers on different days.
The minimum threshold for most LTL shipments is 150 lbs. You can ship single items that fall above this threshold, but most small individual items will need to be shipped through a parcel service.
Some LTL carriers offer international shipping, primarily to Canada and Mexico.
The first and most universal way to track your shipment through your LTL carrier is by using the bill of lading (BOL) number. Every BOL issued has a unique number assigned to it, and entering the BOL number into most LTL carriers’ websites will provide the shipment’s most recent logged location. You can also use a PRO number.
