Be prepared for your pickup. If you cause any delays for the driver there will be repercussions for their overall work and you will be billed for that disruption.
Package your freight properly so it can withstand all movement on the truck.
More than one company can be used to ship LTL freight. If you are using a freight broker or 3PL, they may coordinate local carriers with national carriers to get the best rate on your shipment.
LTL freight rates are based on a shipments origin, destination, route, weight, density, freight class, and any special instructions required to transport it.
While loose items can be transported via LTL freight, some carriers won't take loose boxes that can easily be palletized and wrapped for protection. Be sure and ask your LTL provider about the best way to prepare loose items you are planning to ship.
